Modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely nurture the body of someone affected by cancer and/or cancer treatments.
Massage Cupping is a modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping therapy. While massage is performed by applying pressure, cupping instead uses negative pressure to pull, lift, open and expand the body’s soft tissues.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart.
"I believe Linda is the best massage therapist I have ever seen. April 2019, I had a bad fall. I hit my head, the right side of my body, bruising it, knocking my jaw, right shoulder & collar bone out of place. Linda performed cranial therapy and massage therapy on my upper body. Linda is very skilled in the area of cranial therapy. Linda opened up energy flows, circulation, & reduced the swelling in my head. Her cranial technique is gentle. Linda is able to concentrate on areas of discomfort, performing cupping, on chest, shoulder, & back areas. The next day I swam 1.25+ miles, I had NO pain. Linda’s communication skills are excellent & professional. Linda is an active communicator. I have been seeing Linda McGill for quite a many year now. I am very grateful to be able to continue to receive massage therapy, cupping, and cranial therapy with Linda McGill. I hope you will have the same positive experience as I do. Thank you, Linda, for being you, and for doing all that you do to help people who come to you for help."

"I’ve been going to Linda for several years now! I’ve always liked how she’s uses her special skills; cupping, Oncolgy massage, warm Stones and because she offers Essential oils. She’s helped me through some aches and pains."
"Linda is an outstanding massage therapist! She's also very kind and thoughtful, and I appreciate her ongoing efforts to take on new skills and modalities."
"Linda is the most amazing therapist that I have ever seen! I live with chronic pain and the only time that I am ever able to relax is when I am getting a massage from her!"
Every other year I attend the Oncology Massage Healing Summit in Minneapolis and the next one is coming up in 2020! This is 3 days of education, lecture, networking and is my absolute FAVORITE event to attend.
I do not accept insurance but am happy to provide you with a superbill. If you provide your insurance company with a superbill they typically reimburse you for a portion of the massage costs. To know ahead of time what your insurance will reimburse you, I recommend calling them and asking what they pay for "out of network massage benefits."
All methods of payment are accepted but there is no cash on premises for change.
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.
We have many options when it comes to finding a comfortable position on the table! A breast bolster can be provided for a tender chest, post mastectomy or reconstruction client. Sidelying is always great option and extra pillows and support are provided to ensure comfort. In addition, the massage table is hydraulic and can be lowered so that it is easier to climb on to. Lastly, If laying flat when face up is uncomfortable, the back of the table also lifts up so that you can enjoy your massage in a semi-reclined position!
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, and more. We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.
